BRIC currencies remain weak despite strong growth
The so-called BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India and China) have been experiencing some marked weakness in their currencies of late.
The four may have seen strong economic growth in the past decade, but currently their currencies have seen their largest declines in 15 years.
Despite a gain earlier this week on hopes of intervention, the Indian rupee has been one of the worst performing currencies in the region.
It has fallen almost 25% against the US dollar in the past year.
Jason Hughes from IG Markets told the BBC's Asia Business Report that it's all down to investors being risk averse.
