Lottery on currency exchange rates

A postcode lottery on currency exchange rates could be leaving some holiday-makers short-changed, according to consumer group Which?

They investigated in-store rates across the UK and found significant regional variation in how many euros we were offered between branches of the same provider.

The UK's biggest high street foreign currency supplier, the Post Office was found to have offered various rates nationwide and travel firm Thomas Cook had even bigger differences, up to over €30 or £25 in some stores.

On the flip side, M&S offrred the same rate across the UK.

James Daley, the editor of Which? Money told the BBC "There are really large regional differences"
