How an app helps beat traffic jams in Singapore

Apps are never far from the news these days and this week has been no exception.

Facebook made its biggest acquisition so far. The popular social networking site is buying the photo-sharing tool Instagram for $1bn.

Apps of that value are rare, but there's a growing passion for their development in Asia.

Winnie Tang recently quit her well-paid banking job to develop an app which helps people share car rides, thereby cutting down on traffic congestion.

She told the BBC's Asia Business Report how she came up with the idea for her app in Singapore.
