Rise in new buyer interest in UK housing market
New buyer enquiries edged up in March due to a combination of unusually warm weather and a rush of first-time buyers hoping to beat a stamp duty deadline.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) said that during the month, 9% more surveyors reported a rise in inquiries from potential buyers.
It is not all good news for sellers as prices continued to fall except in London.
BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast spoke to Rics' Chief Economist Simon Rubinsohn.
