Asia sees 'strong job creation'


Tourism, infrastructure projects, resources and IT are helping to drive job creation in Asia, where unemployment rates are, on average, much lower than in the US and Europe.

The downside for companies, Justin Harper from IG Markets tells the BBC, is that wages in some sectors are rising sharply.

However, the financial sector is suffering and laying off workers across the region, he says, largely due to the US and European banks being forced to make cuts.
