General Motors board to decide factory closures

General Motors returned to profit last year everywhere except for in Europe.

Its Opel and Vauxhall subsidiaries continue to lose money.

On Wednesday General Motors' supervisory board will discuss plans to slash costs which could lead to the closure of two major plants.
