News anchor re-lives Japan earthquake


The earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on 11 March last year was the one of worst natural disaster in its history.

Even for a country which is relatively well prepared for tremors, the damage, especially from the tsunami, was much worse than anyone expected.

Gene Otani was the presenter who broke the news on Japan's public broadcaster's English language channel.

He explains how his day unfolded.
