Spotlight on tackling corruption in Asia

Corruption has jumped to the fore in Asia, with the former Philippines President Gloria Arroyo appearing in a Manila court in the latest stage in a long running fraud saga.

According to Transparency International, Singapore is seen as the least corrupt of Asian nations, ranking 5th in its latest perception report.

Japan comes in 14th and China 75th.

The Philippines is ranked 129th, with Burma seen as the most corrupt at 180th.

Abigail Cheadle, Managing Director at Kroll, explains what the pitfalls are, as well as the procedures that Asian organisations and businesses should be following.
