China's economy has continued to slow.
Growth in the fourth quarter was 8.9%, on an annual basis, the slowest pace in at least two years.
In 2011, the world's second largest economy grew 9.2%.
BBC's Rico Hizon spoke to Patrick Chovanec, associate professor at Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management in Beijing about his thoughts for Chinese growth in the year ahead.
