BRC says increase of high street shoppers is due to sales
The British Retail Consortium has found that more people have been shopping in the last week leading up to Christmas due to the high level of promotions and discounts.
The latest figures suggest that shopping centres saw the biggest boost to footfall, rising by 5.7% week-on-week.
Radio 5 live Breakfast spoke to Tim Lamb, the general manager of the Metro Centre in Gateshead, who disagreed with the BRC's findings.
