Perils of a strong currency

Some of the best performing currencies in the world in 2011 have been in Asia, reflecting both local strengths and weaknesses in other advanced economies.

The Japanese yen and Australian dollar have both appreciated significantly against the US dollar.

But having a strong currency is both a blessing and a curse, as BBC correspondents in Tokyo and Sydney explain.
