'Clear signs of contraction' in China
China's official Purchasing Manager's Index dropped to 49.0 in November, indicating that manufacturing in the country is shrinking.
Analyst Charles Chaw of China Knowledge Consulting tells the BBC that there are other "clear signs of contraction" in the sector.
He also explains why rising wages in China present a difficult balancing act for the authorities.
