Asean to debate South China Sea

Help

The South China Sea is likely to take centre stage as leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) meet in China this week.

Competing claims over the sea, and the oil and gas reserves it may contain, are one of the most divisive issues in the region.

The US wants to weigh into the debate. The BBC's Karishma Vaswani reports.
