Fed struggles to impact US economy

In the US all eyes are on the Federal Reserve which will announce its decision on interest rates on Wednesday.

With the economy barely growing and unemployment rising, Americans are looking towards their central bank for answers.

The team that sets interest rates is due to finish a two day meeting in Washington.

It is thought they will come up with a fresh attempt to rouse the economy.

But, as Jill Martin reports from New York, even the mighty Federal Reserve is struggling to make an impact.
