Centrica is looking to contact British Gas shareholders

The company that owns British Gas is trying to contact the thousands of people who bought shares in the 1980s after the 'Tell Sid Ad Campaign'.

It was one of the most successful privatisations and 28,000 people are thought to have bought shares and forgotten about them. This means they would have missed out on dividends and the opportunity to sell them.

Gavin Oldham is Chief Executive of The Share Centre and told Wake Up To Money's Andy Verity what to do if you think you might be owed some of the shares.
