Guitar business 'proving recession proof'
It seems that the guitar business is recession proof. In 2010, 835,000 guitars were sold in the UK to a value of £165m. That is twice as many as in 1998.
Chances are quite a few of those were Gibson Guitars, the iconic brand used by players such as Jimmy Page, Slash, Lenny Kravitz and The Edge.
Simon Jack talks to Henry Juszkiewicz, Chairman and chief executive officer of Gibson Guitar, and demonstrates his musical skills while exploring why the guitar business has proved robust throughout the recession.
