The board of the International Monetary Fund is meeting to discuss who will replace Dominique Strauss-Kahn.
After picking up China's endorsement, France's Christine Lagarde confirmed her position as favourite over her Mexican rival Augustin Carstens.
Dominique Strauss-Kahn is facing charges of sexual assault in the US, which he denies.
