China's search engine Baidu continues to eclipse Google

China's top online search engine made 43% more in the first quarter of this year compared to last.

Listed on Nasdaq, Baidu continues to gain market share on its home turf.

It now dominates over 75% of the online searches in China whilst its rival Google controls just one-fifth.

Google's presence in the mainland continues to weaken after it moved its China search service to Hong Kong amid a row over Beijing's censorship and alleged hacking.

Mark Natkin of Marbridge Consulting in Beijing says Baidu will continue to be the market leader in China.
