What can the chancellor do to boost growth?


As the events in Japan unsettle the world's financial markets, the economic climate is even more fragile as the chancellor settles the final details of his Budget, to be revealed next week.

George Osborne is said to be preparing a "budget for growth". The BBC's economics editor, Stephanie Flanders, reports from Newcastle on what a cash-strapped chancellor might be able to do to boost economic growth.
