SAS reports another quarterly loss

9 February 2011 Last updated at 11:12 GMT

SAS Scandinavian Airlines has posted another quarterly loss.

The largest airline in Northern Europe and the national carrier of Denmark, Norway and Sweden has posted a pre-tax loss of $72m dollars in its fourth quarter.

The company has been unprofitable in all but one of the past 13 quarters as it has struggled with declining global air traffic and growing competition from low-cost carriers such as Ryanair and Norwegian Air Shuttle.

Julia Caesar reports.
