(Close): Frankfurt's leading share index fell on Thursday, dragged down by big falls in Commerzbank shares.
Shares in Germany's second biggest bank dropped 6.6% after it announced a 55% fall in net profit and said it would beef up its core capital.
The Dax index finished down 34.41 points, or 0.5%, at 6,809.46.
Top riser on the index was Deutsche Bank, which rose 0.9%. Fresenius gained 0.7% after US authorities approved its leukaemia drug.
