Tony Hayward: BP oil spill contingency plans were 'inadequate'
Former BP chief executive Tony Hayward has said that the media response to the oil spill was a "feeding frenzy".
Speaking for the first time since his resignation, Mr Hayward said that the company was "not prepared" to deal with "the intensity of the media scrutiny".
The former boss was criticised for his handling of the disaster and failed attempts to kill the well.
A Money Programme special, BP $30 Billion Blowout is broadcast on BBC Two on Tuesday, 9 November 2010, at 2100 GMT, or afterwards on BBC iPlayer.
