Banks leave some customers in 'dire poverty'
Britain's high street banks are being accused of leaving some customers in "dire poverty" after taking money out of their accounts without permission.
Under a little-known rule, banks can move cash from a savings or current account to pay a credit card or mortgage at the same bank.
Citizens Advice say there has been a big increase in complaints about the practice, but the banks say they are just helping forgetful customers.
