Current retirement rules 'working well'

Plans to scrap the default retirement will 'raise concerns' according to David Yeandle of the Engineering Employers Federation.

Under the proposal, employers would not be allowed to dismiss staff because they had reached the age of 65.

Mr Yeandle said that employers would need more time in order to structure their workforce planning.
