#BBCtrending: Paddy Power told to withdraw Pistorius betting ad

Earlier this week, we reported on a controversial campaign by the Irish bookmakers Paddy Power - allowing people in the UK and the Republic of Ireland to bet on the outcome of the Oscar Pistorius trial.

The UK's Advertising Standards Authority has now ordered Paddy Power to remove the advert with "immediate effect" following an "unprecedented number of complaints". In a statement, the ASA said: "We are investigating whether the ad is offensive for trivialising the issues surrounding a murder trial, the death of a woman and disability".
