US Capitol shooting: 'Lockdown, but no panic'

Shots have been reported near the US Capitol in Washington DC, with police locking down offices in the area.

Journalists, congressional staffers and tourists were ordered to take shelter at the US Capitol Complex at 14:28 local time (18:28 GMT).

It has been reported that a man has been detained and a police officer injured.

Witness Suzanne Kianpour spoke to the BBC from a Senate office close to the scene. She said there was no sense of panic despite the lockdown.
