Huge gas explosion rocks street in Philadelphia

A utility worker has been killed by a gas explosion in a residential neighbourhood in Philadelphia, in the eastern United States.

Firefighters had been called to the site about 15 minutes before the explosion, after residents reported smelling gas in the area.

About 50 residents had been evacuated before the blast.
