War leaves many homeless Afghan children

Decades of war and the opium addiction of their parents have left many Afghan children homeless.

Some live in tiny shacks and work the streets to provide for their large families.

This situation has deprived them from attending regular schools, but now the Ashyaneh centre is providing these children with free education.

So far they have taught 3,700 children to read and write.

Karen Zarindast reports.
