Omar Shakir was one of the young activists who was documenting the uprising and the government crackdown in Bab Amr, Homs, a year ago.

Mohammed Jomaa came to Arsal, Lebanon with his son and other members of his family. Mohammed's brother, Idrees, was killed in fighting with the Syrian Army.

Atif Idriss came to Lebanon with his wife. Their son Mohammed, a Captain in the Syrian Army, defected to the opposition fighters. He became an important leader of the Free Syrian Army. He was killed by an exploding shell.
