MH17 plane crash: Russia 'ready to help' with investigation

Russia's ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, has told the UN Security Council that Russia supported an ''impartial'' investigation into the Malaysia Airlines plane crash.

''We stand ready to provide experts for participation in investigations,'' he said. "However there can be no jumping to conclusions nor political statements here".

The UN Security Council has adopted a resolution demanding access to the crash site of a passenger plane downed over a rebel-held area in Ukraine.
