McCanns: 'Children not immune to media'

Kate and Gerry McCann gave evidence at a libel hearing in Lisbon where they described how their nine-year-old son had asked why his parents hid Madeleine.

The McCanns are suing former Portuguese detective Goncalo Amoral over allegations in his book about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann from the family's holiday apartment in the Algarve.

Gerry McCann told reporters outside the court that their twins who are nine-years-old hear things on the radio and ask their parents questions about what happened to their older sister.
