Norway herring tin 'defused' after 25 years
Fermented herring expert Ruben Madsen was summoned to Norway to help open a tin of 25-year-old herring which it was feared may be explosive.
Mr Madsen, of Sweden's Surstromming Academy, told BBC Radio 5 live that despite the media attention and safety concerns, all that followed the careful opening was a very bad smell.
