St Petersburg TV tower struck by lightning

Dramatic pictures have emerged of St Petersburg television tower being struck during a lightning storm on Monday.

The head of the Leningrad Television Broadcasting Centre, Vladimir Baturin, is reported to have said service from the tower was disrupted for a few minutes following the strike.

The tower is one of the highest points of St Petersburg.
