Frescoes of Santa Croce can be viewed from scaffolding

Art lovers in Italy will soon be able to get much closer to some of the finest Renaissance-era paintings, but they will need a hard hat to do it.

That is because the scaffolding at the world famous Santa Croce Basilica in Florence is being left up after a major five-year restoration.
