Hong Kong bankers call for democratic reform
A group of workers from Hong Kong's financial industries have launched a campaign calling for democratic reform in the city.
The group - who support Occupy Central - told China's leaders that free and fair elections were needed to protect Hong Kong's status as a top financial hub.
If Beijing persists in allowing only loyalists on the ballot for chief executive in 2017, Occupy activists plan to paralyse Hong Kong's Central financial district to force a legitimate choice.
Members of the group hosted a news conference on Wednesday following the publication of an open letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Zhang Xiaoming, head of the Chinese government's liaison office in Hong Kong.
