Shaxi under control, claim Chinese authorities

Authorities in the Chinese town of Shaxi say the outbreak of violence this week has now been brought under control and the protest organisers arrested.

They insist that contrary to internet rumours, there have been no deaths or serious injuries in the crackdown.

The BBC's John Sudworth witnessed some of the unrest, and reports many migrant workers in the town are still angry.
