Thai vote 'should be postponed'

Thailand's elections should be postponed because the risk of violence against candidates is too high, the country's election commission has said.

The call comes after police in Bangkok clashed with protesters who were trying to prevent parties from registering for February's elections.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra called a snap election after weeks of protests that demanded an unelected "people's council" take power.

Jonathan Head reports from Bangkok.
