Afghanistan violence: Governor killed in mosque blast

The governor of Afghanistan's eastern Logar province, Arsala Jamal, has been killed in a blast in a mosque, during prayers for the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha.

The bomb was apparently hidden in a microphone.

At least 18 other people were injured and several were in a critical condition, Mr Jamal's spokesman said.

The Taliban increasingly control much of the countryside in the province.
