First same-sex couples marry in New Zealand

The first same-sex weddings have taken place in New Zealand after the country legalised gay marriage.

One of the first couples to get married were former New Zealand national footballers Tash Vitali and Melissa Ray, who won an all expenses wedding ceremony in a radio competition.

30 other same-sex partners were due to marry on Monday, according to the Department of Internal Affairs.
