Missing Air Algerie plane: Flight details released

A helpline number has been set up for the relatives of those on board Air Algerie Flight AH 5017, which lost contact on Thursday.

The plane was travelling from Burkina Faso to Algiers and was carrying 112 passengers and seven crew, said Air Algerie.

The aircraft, which is owned by the Spanish airline Swiftair, disappeared about 50 minutes after take-off from Ouagadougou, in Burkina Faso.

Air Algerie spokesman, Houari Zuhair, said the plane was last monitored at 0155 GMT while flying over the region of Gao in Mali.
