Electric rhythm from London to Nairobi

Owiny Sigoma Band was born in 2009 when a group of London-based musicians travelled to Kenya to collaborate with local artists there.

The venture proved successful and this year the cultural exchange continued.

They have recently released a second album, called Power Punch, in which they blend the Kenyan nyatiti, an eight-stringed instrument, and Luo rhythm with Western electronic music, song-writing and production techniques.

BBC Africa's Paul Bakibinga spoke to Kenyan drummer Charles Owoko and British bass player Louis Hackett.
