Liberia's presidential contest in the balance

Africa's first democratically elected female president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, faces a strong challenge in Tuesday's election in Liberia from her long-standing rival Winston Tubman.

Mrs Sirleaf was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize last week but Mr Tubman has been dismissive of the Nobel Committee's decision, arguing that the prize will not influence voters.

West Africa correspondent Thomas Fessy has been looking at the challenges facing whoever wins the vote.
