Wildfires engulf central Chile

Firefighters in central Chile tackle wildfires as hundreds of local residents leave their homes in the worst affected areas.

Massive wildfires have engulfed parts of the Chilean coastal town of Llico.

Hundreds of hectares of forest and bush land have been destroyed and several buildings damaged or destroyed.

Firefighters helped by planes and helicopters have been tackling the blaze for three days while rescue teams are facilitating the evacuation efforts.
