Glasgow 2014: Police praised over Gareth Evans assault
Team Wales chef de mission Brian Davies has praised the way Police Scotland dealt with the incident in which weightlifter Gareth Evans had his nose broken by a head-butt from an Australian medallist.
Mr Davies said the police responded "admirably and very quickly" to the incident in the Commonwealth Games athletes' village in Glasgow and he now considers the matter closed.
Francois Etoundi, 29, head-butted Mr Evans at the athletes' village at 05:30 BST on Wednesday. At Glasgow Sheriff Court, he was ordered to pay Mr Evans £400.
Etoundi won a bronze medal in the weightlifting 77kg category on Sunday. It appears the problem arose after Mr Evans' girlfriend hugged him.
Mr Davies spoke to Ashleigh Crowter.
