Bellway Paving boss Tom Connors jailed for conning pensioners
Two men involved in a business ripping off vulnerable pensioners for shoddy driveway repairs across south Wales have been jailed for over five years.
Bellway Paving - just one of the names they operated under - was first featured on BBC Wales' X-Ray programme nearly two years ago.
Tom Connors, the man in charge of the firm, was sentenced to 38 months in prison.
Richard McCarthy was jailed for 24 months sentence, with an extra month added on for failing to appear at an earlier hearing.
Two others - Ben Jones and Keith Palmer - were given suspended sentences of 11 months.
The judge at Newport Crown Court said the men from the Rumney and St Mellons areas of Cardiff had deliberately targeted their elderly victims.
Rachel Treadaway-Williams reports.
