Maesteg rugby club defiant despite blaze

Officials have said a deliberate fire has devastated one of Wales' oldest rugby clubs and have warned a stand may need to be pulled down.

Maesteg RFC officials said the fire had destroyed memorabilia and ruined electrics in the clubhouse while the stand's steelwork was damaged.

But they insisted the team's season will go ahead as planned.

Police want to speak to two youths, aged between 13 and 14, riding bikes and seen climbing over a gate into the ground.
