Devon flood survivor Vanessa Glover thanks RNLI rescuers
Flood rescue victim Vanessa Glover pays tribute to the RNLI crew who are receiving bravery awards after they plucked her to safety when she was swept from her car as a river burst its banks in Devon.
Paul Eastment and Chris Missen from Porthcawl RNLI station in south Wales were covering for colleagues when they were called into action at Umberleigh last December.
Mrs Glover and Mr Eastment recall the rescue in an interview with Oliver Hides on BBC Radio Wales.
"As a society we should hold them in the highest esteem," said Mrs Glover.
Recalling the incident, she said: "The water took me away at the speed of a rocket and I shot the rapids."
