Newport's Jon Lilygreen represents Cyprus

Welsh musician Jon Lilygreen and the Islanders represented Cyprus in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, Norway.

The Islanders had an international line-up with performers from all over Europe.

Cypriot songwriters Nasos Lambrianides and Melis Konstantinou, were led to Wales after surfing the internet in their hunt for a singer to perform 'Life Looks Better in Springtime' .

The song came 21st in the final of the 55th annual Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, Norway. Lena, representing Germany, was the winning entrant with 'Satellite'.

Lilygreen has since formed a band, Lilygreen & Maguire, a Welsh pop rock duo formed in 2011.

The pair signed with Warner Bros. Records and have since released three singles, Given Up Giving Up, Ain't Love Crazy and Come On Get Higher.

In October 2012 Lilygreen & Maguire supported Scouting For Girls on tour.
