Professor's praise for India trip

The vice-chancellor of Cardiff University, visiting India with the prime minister, says universities have been given strong support, particularly over student visas.

Prime Minister David Cameron has sought to reassure Indian students that he will make it easier for them to work and study in the UK.

It follows concern that prospective students have been deterred by talk of tighter immigration controls.

Prof Colin Riordan, vice-chancellor of Cardiff University, was part of the British delegation and told Bethan Rhys Roberts of BBC Radio Wales the visit had gone well.
