NHS unit closures 'inevitable'

With the future of the NHS in Wales under the microscope at a conference in Cardiff, a former chief medical officer discusses changes ahead.

The future of the NHS in Wales will come under the microscope at a conference in Cardiff.

It will be held on Wednesday and will look at the unprecedented pressures on budgets, the unsustainability of services and a need to improve the nation's health.

Bethan Rhys Roberts asked Dame Deirdre Hine, a former chief medical officer and who is chairing the conference, if closing some units and centralising services were possibilities.
